I know that we are awaiting with baited breath the November election. I have missed the primary activity but been keeping an eye on it from away. Anyway, since Al and I have been in Canada, we've noticed that there is also an election going on here. It's bizzarre - an election is called and it happens a few weeks later (I think it's a month) - and it can heppen at any time. Being used to the months and months it takes in the US, and the same date, this is surprising.
Also, being used to the two party system (ok, Ralph Nader is filler, get used to it), I was also surprised to learn about the sheer number of parties. They have Liberal, Conservative, Progressive Canadian, New Democratic Party (nothing like our Democrats), Green Party, Bloc Quebecios, and, blessed Canada, the Marijuana Party. I'm serious, an actual party devoted to MJ (how would that go over in the Bible Belt?).
I have no idea what they all are about and, frankly, I could care less, but there seems to be a party for just about every citizen.
Anyway, we're still writing songs and hope to record again soon. The feud is still on with Letterman - I don't ever expect that we'll be on. I'm shopping for a new acoustic guitar. I like a $2400 (Cdn) Taylor but I think I'll wait some more until the planets align.
